In celebration of our wonderful Muddy and Melanoma WA, a “Close to our Heart” run was held in her honour on Monday 1 October.
On behalf of the Perth Harriettes, the support offered by all of the Perth Hash Groups was fantastic and we had an excellent turnout of over 160 Hash Women and Men.
Thanks to Cookie and Wombat, a great run was set which started off from the Carine Open Space. The hares set a cracking pace and people were running up the hills and down the dills.
A welcomed “wet your whistle” drink stop of Port and Lemonade was enjoyed by all, thanks Anyname and Kebab.
The circle was opened by our great GM, Anyname and she thanked all that came. On a sad note, Thunder from Rocky City gave a moving tribute to our true Hash friend, Uncle Fester who sadly passed away from that horrible “C”. We know that Uncle Fester will have started “Heaven Hash” and when we all get there almighty trails will be set.
A rowdy raffle draw was held, were golf bags, magic, wine, bubbles, decanters, a drill and sooooo much more was won. Many people walked away with smiles and great prizes. Thanks to one and all who donated the spoils and also thanks to Deaconess who sorted and assembled them. (There are enough for future raffles!!!)
On to charges, to DIY who was not in an ounce of Hash attire, and Gossip Girl got charged for wiping out Popeye’s side mirror with a seat, oops and Occy was charged for having a 69er, I think there was many 69ers, but can’t keep up with her.
The Club songs were hollered out, and I do have to say NOT ONE was in tune at all and the circle came to a closed and everyone queued up for some yummy food – thanks Cheapy for being caterer extraordinaire and keeping the unruly kitchen staff in line!!!!
With the raffle and the rego’s, I am pleased to report that over $2,107 was raised on the night. The biggest thanks to all the Perth Harriettes and the Perth Hash groups for your very kind donations to the raffle and regos, it would not have been so successful without your support and generous donations.
You are all stars and should be proud. Thanks to the committee for arrange another great Perth Harriettes event.
